Er komt een vervolg op "de Kathedraal" en "Brug naar de Hemel"! Hte spel heet " A column of Fire" in het engels, en is deze keer weer van auteur Michael Rieneck (in zijn uppie deze keer), en getekend door Michael Menzel. Van hun site:

"The setting is Europe in the time of Elizabeth I. In England, France, Spain and the Netherlands, Catholics and Protestants compete for power and influence. In this politically unstable environment, resourceful operatives and courageous secret agents plot to secure power for their rulers. The balance of power shifts back and forth amidst foiled assassinations, successful rebellions, and futile invasions. And not infrequently, those who sympathize with the weak are expelled from the country.

The real enemies, then as now, are not the rival religions. The true battle pits those who believe in tolerance and compromise against the tyrants who would impose their ideas on everyone else — no matter what the cost. Who will best exploit the changing power conditions in Europe to win the game?"

Kan echt niet wachten! Hij komt blijkbaar samen met het gelijknamige boek uit, op 12 september. Vrij uniek om zo een dubbele launch te zien. Zal 999 Games deze ook opnemen? ik vermoed van wel. Maar ik zal al blij zijn met de Engelse versie.

Ik vond de dubbele launch ook straf. De beide boeken zijn al heel goed, ben heel benieuwd naar dit deel. De andere reeks van Follet (The Century Trilogy) was ook super.
Qua spellen vond ik Brug naar de hemel magertjes. Prachtig spel met heel leuk centraal systeem maar het geheel werkte niet zo. De Kathedraal is als spel wel helemaal top! Hopelijk is dit vervolg dat ook ...

Zeker, Century Trilogie kan ik iedereen aanbevelen, heerlijke boeken. Wel lastig om daar een spel van te maken (tenzij het een Civ builder/war game is).
