Since posting our update yesterday morning, we have had a lot of feedback regarding the money chip "plaques" upgrade stretch goal.

Because there are so many competing thoughts about this stretch goal, we have decided that it is best to run a poll to determine what the next major stretch goal is.

While Roxley does not design by committee, we also do not design in the dark. We have been extremely passionate about some of the stretch goals we've introduced, mainly the poker chips themselves. With the plaque upgrade, we are not completely entrenched with the idea, which is why we would love your opinion!

Notes On This Poll

This poll will inform our decision, not make the decision. Roxley will analyse the responses and decide what is best.
We are not showing art for either option, because we would like your opinion on the concept. Because the art is not finalized for the money chips, we feel it is best that people vote on the concept alone.
This will be the final stretch goal related to the money chips.
Whatever direction we choose to take in the end, rest assured that we will work incredibly hard to ensure this stretch goal, along with the rest of the game, are as good as we can make it.
We suggest answering the poll based on your gut feeling of which option creates a better gameplay experience.

Option 1: Upgrade £15 money chips to "plaques"


The stretch goal described this morning! We will replace all of the round 15 denomination money chips with large rectangular ones. The art on these will match the style of the art on the rest of the chips (art is not complete)
Because the width of of the plaque is equal to the diameter of the rest of the chips, we feel that physical usability will remain high.
Because the size is larger, it will promote players storing the chip at the bottom of their money stack. This will slightly increase the ability to count your opponents money quickly.

Option 2: Upgrade all chips to standard poker chip diameter (39mm) plus modular vac tray


Keep all the chips round! We will increase the diameter of the chips to match standard poker chips size.
All chips will have a slightly increased weight (8g).
A stack of round only chips can be picked up off the table slightly more easily. But both options should remain highly usable.
We will also make the vac tray modular (2 pieces) so that a separate vac tray storing the chips. Only the money chips can be removed from the box and placed on the table. Note: the vac tray may be introduced in a later stretch goal even if option 1 is selected.

Hm, dan was mijn vermoeden toch juist.

Een upgrade naar pokerchips met een gewicht van 8 gram?

Toen poker helemaal op zijn hoogtepunt was had zelfs bijna niemand nog zo'n lichte chips. Zelfs de gewone waren al heel goedkoop.

Ok, dat is nu misschien niet meer het geval en ze gaan passend artwork krijgen maar toch ...

Ik vind die plaques geen goed idee, dan krijgt het helemaal zo'n poker gevoel

Maar ik heb nu brass met van die goedkope plastic muntjes, dus dit is sowieso is al een upgrade.

In ieder geval is de artwork grandioos, dus daar krijgen ze een dikke 10/10.

Verder had ik toch wel graag wat andere upgrades gehad (vp markers wat leukers etc.) ... het liefste echter metalen munten maar kon me ook wel vinden in dit idee. Alleen waren het duidelijk geen poker chips maar een soort betere en grotere kunststof munten, ongetwijfeld van mooie artwork voorzien. Dat ze nu toch ineens pokerchips willen doen maar eigenlijk gewoon ook weer niet die kwaliteit, is toch wel jammer.

Niettemin is de kans groot dat ik ze wel ga backen...

Dit was wel een fijne update

Een 2 persoons kaart in dezelfde artwork erbij is wel een groot cadeau.

Inderdaad. Ondertussen is het voor mij al op een punt aangekomen dat ik mijn Full Bundle pledge niet eens meer wil delen Het origineel ga ik vervangen door een prachtig exemplaar en kan ik gewoon blijven spelen zoals gewend, of gebruik maken van hun nieuwe 2-speler regels. En Birmingham ziet er voldoende anders uit, dat die zeker al wel een plek in de collectie verdiend. Voor mij is deze campagne een echte no-brainer geworden en ben ook benieuwd naar wat er nog meer in het vat zit.
