Yes, I loved Essen this year - various American-centric pundits dismissed this year's Spiel, but they were wrong. The show was HEAVING with interesting games and fascinating people.64 Hej Mark, Still here. Cool! Did you like Essen this year? What was the best thing on the fair for you and what was the worst thing on the fair for you?
I didn't get to play as many games as I wanted: not enough time!
I didn't buy as many games as I'd have liked to: I didn't bring enough Euros! To be fair, I could have spent ANY budget I'd made on games and miniatures.
This year, I did see everything there was to see - which I didn't manage to do in three days last year. Some designers spend a lot of time pitching new games to publishers at the show, I pitched only one new game in Essen.
Best thing? Meeting up again with all the entertaining White Goblin Games staff, and finally getting to chat face-to-face with Chechu Nieto.
Worst thing? I had a killer headache for most of Thursday, up until about 3pm - I just wanted to go back to the hotel and feel sorry for myself. However, Paracetamol and Codeine saved the day for me.
