Net uit: Rick Atkinson "the day of battle"
gelezen vanuit historische interesse, maar ook vanwege de voorbereiding van de Memoir'44 Dutch Open van dit jaar. Atkinson weet de slag om Italië mooi neer te zetten en de veldslagen mooi af te wisselen met politiek en geografische / culturele beschrijvingen. Een aanrader voor wie meer dan militaire geschiedenis alleen houdt.

Qua Fantasy lees ik momenteel : Abercrombies First Law trilogie. Vooral de actiescènes zijn uiterst levendig beschreven terwijl de helden meer a-typisch zijn.
Qua non-fictie lees ik momenteel : Frankopans' Zijderoutes. Heel boeiend omwille van de geschiedenis uit het gezichtspunt van Azië , met enkele inspirerende inzichten naar het heden toe.
Beste boek dat ik in 2016 las: Yuval Noah Harari's 'Sapiens'. Een boeiend inzicht in de menselijke beschaving.

Erg leuk, geschreven als een roman. Over de PIONiers (jaja) die tijdens de bezetting naar Oost-Europa gingen om daar de nieuwe lebensraum van de Duitsers te beschermen en cultiveren.
kan niet wachten... dan ook maar gelijk weer een bordspel ervan maken, dan zijn we weer compleet
