Ik zag net op BGG met de contest van Briefcase (Artipia Games nieuwe spel) dat er een tegenhanger is van Kickstarter.com namelijk Indiegogo.com.
What is indiegogo: Indiegogo.com is a kickstarter equivalent for non US-based companies. Our funding campaign works in exactly the same way as it would on kickstarter. We have a 30 day period to meet our funding goal. If our goal is reached, the project will get funded which will help us a lot with our production. The only difference is that instead of Amazon Payments used by kickstarter, indiegogo uses Paypal for its transactions. All payments are processed through Paypal ensuring the security of the transaction and refund if the project doesn't reach the funding goal. Paypal allows you to pay using a credit card without even creating an account.
Hoi Misth. Met Headspin Games hebben zijn we afgelopen zondag een campagne gestart op IndieGoGo ( http://www.indiegogo.com/Sharks-with-Lasers ). Briefcase was voor ons het proof-of-concept dat een bordspel ook op IndieGoGo succesvol funding binnen kan halen. Moet gezegd worden dat de presentatie van Briefcase erg goed verzorgd is en dat Artipia al bekend is van bv Drum Roll. Op sommige fora (o.a. BoardGameGeek) zijn we wel tegengekomen dat sommige mensen niet funden als ze zien dat het IndieGoGo is, doordat er minder quality control op IndieGoGo zou zijn dan op Kickstarter. Met meer projecten als Briefcase krijgt IndieGoGo hopelijk ook meer naam op bordspel gebied, zodat non-US residents ook een krachtig platform hebben voor crowdfunden van bordspellen (of Kickstarter moet natuurlijk voor non-US residents beschikbaar komen wat helemaal mooi zou zijn...). We zullen laten weten hoe onze campagne verloopt. Momenteel loopt die pas een paar dagen.
