White Goblin Games heeft een bittere pil te moeten slikken. Een van haar acht nieuw uitgaven gepland voor Spiel zal niet voor verkoop beschikbaar zijn. Het spel kan er wel gespeeld worden maar de zending die het vliegtuig gemist heeft staat nog in de fabriek.
Release Nieuw Amsterdam unfortunately delayed! 16 October 2012
Each year, the sad news of previously announced board games that finally won’t make it to the yearly Spiel fair in Essen, Germany, pop up. This year, disaster strikes for us. Off the previously announced eight brand new Spiel releases, for yet unknown reasons, one game didn’t catch the flight from the factory to Europe: Nieuw Amsterdam, by board game designer Jeffrey D. Allers.
While at this point in time it’s still a mystery why Nieuw Amsterdam wasn’t included in the freight, the facts are clear: although Nieuw Amsterdam will absolutely be available to be played at the fair, copies of the game won’t be for sale at the White Goblin Games booth at Spiel 2012. Release of the game is planned very soon, as everything’s ready: the game and all of its beautiful, wooden components (over 200!) has been produced. Also not available at Spiel 2012, will be the sleeves for the highly successful Revolver- and Revolver 2-card game.
There just seems to have been an unforeseen logistical problem. In the first place, we’re of course very, very sorry to all the people who have pre-ordered the game. It’s always sad when you have to disappoint people who have truly been looking forward to getting their hands on a copy of this great design by Jeffrey. Especially when they’ve already given you their trust by putting their hard-earned cash in it. We’ll see how we can make up for this!
People who have pre-ordered the game for pick up from Spiel 2012 or for shipment to their home addresses, have all been informed by e-mail in the meantime with a message that the game will be shipped to their mailbox as soon as possible. If people also included one or more of the seven brand new releases – Expedition: Congo River 1884, Pyramidion, Rattus Cartus, Revolver 2, Saqqara, Vampire Empire and/or Völuspá – in their pre-orders for pick-up from Spiel 2012, they will still be able to collect these titles from the White Goblin Games booth, booth 5-01. Nieuw Amsterdam will be shipped as soon as it is in stock. People who pre-ordered and chose for the shipping option, will find the rest of their pre-order already shipped to their home addresses, with Nieuw Amsterdam of course also following soon afterwards also. However, the release of the game might take a few weeks from now, so the only thing we can do now is to rely on everyone’s patience.
As stated before, Nieuw Amsterdam - as well as the other seven new releases from the company - can still be tried and tested at the White Goblin Games booth at Spiel 2012, booth number 5-01.
Zeker jammer. Gelukkig hebben ze nog ruim voldoende andere titels om hun stand te vullen. Ik herinner me nog lege stands op Spiel, 2 jaar terug. Zeer triest voor die mensen.
Laat ons hopen dat Nieuw Amsterdam achteraf toch nog goede verkoopcijfers haalt.
Voor zij die sleeves of de nederlandstalige uitbreiding van Revolver hebben besteld, het spijtige nieuws is dat die ook op hetzelfde vrachtschip zitten als Nieuw Amsterdam. Geen sleeves dus, geen nederlandstalige uitbreiding (wel engelstalige). Spijtig voor WGG, de medewerkers waren er het hart van in, maar het komt wel goed. Ze hebben inderdaad nog genoeg mooie spullen om hun stand te vullen.
Ja heel jammer. Vooral voor White Goblin zelf. Ik kan wel wachten op mijn Revoler Promo. Dit wordt voor mij opgehaald op het Spellenspektakel. Verder was het weer leuk om langs de stand van White Goblin te gaan. Heb dit jaar alleen Revolver 2 gekocht. White Goblin heeft voor mij ook geen prioriteit omdat ik die makkelijk het hele jaar kan kopen.
