So will you like Strozzi? Well that depends largely on your personal taste in games. If you do buy the game, here's what you can expect to get get:
- easy to learn and teach
- some randomness
- difficult decisions, with simple choices but far-reaching implications
- good interaction (it's an auction game!)
- a simplified and interesting auction mechanic
- quick play time
- typical Knizia elegance with a thin theme and innovative scoring system with multiple pathways for getting points
- decent components
- plays well with up to six players

If you can't stand Knizia games, there's no real reason to think that Strozzi is going to be any different. But certainly Knizia fans are bound to find something they like here, if they consider it as a game in its own right, and without comparing it too closely to his other games. Ra, ra, ra for a new Knizia game!

Paul Daniels Review: http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/553330/ ... -triumvira
This is a fantastic 3 (or even 2) player game that's easy to learn and easy to teach. It does the Roman theme well; presents the players with interesting choices and avenues to victory. It's short, intense, and interactive gameplay is accented with it's elegant and balanced mechanics. Although, you might not like it if you prefer long games, hate attacking other people (in the game), or dislike the unique combat system. Or just don't like the things I like about it.
